 Frank and Connie Selmi

Frank has "lived" the family farm since the day he was born. The greenhouse and farm have been a part of his life. He earned his BS in Horticulture at the University of Illinois in 1976 and taught at Whiteside Area Vocational Center for 13 years. In between all that, Frank has been involved in all the activities of the greenhouse and market for over 50 years. Connie joined the operation in 1976 when she married Frank. Learning about the greenhouse was the most challenging part of joining the family. Her education at Illinois State University in Education, both Spanish and History, kept her involved in teaching both full time and substituting until the 1990's. Together, Frank and Connie have changed the face of Selmi's in many ways. The Farm Market was extended to Northland Mall in Sterling in 1979. The Fall Festival was one of the first "Ag Entertainment" farms in Illinois. Throughout the years, the Selmi's have innovated, renovated, and revitalized the farm and it's produce.
